Oral Surgery
Assessment and surgical dental care for damaged teeth, wisdom teeth, impacted teeth and selected oral soft-tissue conditions.
Oral surgery includes procedures used to diagnose and treat conditions affecting the teeth, gums, jawbone and other structures inside the mouth. At MID Dental Clinic in City Walk, Dubai, treatment begins with a careful clinical assessment to determine whether surgery is necessary and which approach is suitable.
When might oral surgery be recommended?
A surgical procedure may be considered when a tooth cannot be predictably restored, a wisdom tooth is causing disease, a tooth is impacted beneath the gum or bone, or an area of oral tissue requires further investigation. Surgery may also support orthodontic or restorative treatment in selected cases.
Whenever appropriate, options for preserving a natural tooth are considered before extraction. The final recommendation depends on the diagnosis, symptoms, remaining tooth structure, surrounding bone and the patient's general health.
Oral surgery services in Dubai
Available care may include tooth extraction, wisdom tooth removal, surgical tooth extraction, exposure of selected impacted teeth, frenectomy and assessment of suspicious or persistent oral lesions. Treatment suitability is confirmed after an examination.
Assessment and treatment planning
The dentist reviews your dental concern, medical history, medications and relevant risk factors. Dental X-rays or three-dimensional imaging may be recommended when the position of a tooth, nearby nerves, roots, sinuses or surrounding bone needs to be evaluated.
The proposed procedure, alternatives, expected recovery and recognised risks are discussed before treatment. Some medical conditions or medications may require additional precautions or coordination with another healthcare professional.
What to expect after oral surgery
Temporary bleeding, swelling, tenderness and restricted mouth opening may occur after some procedures. Recovery varies according to the complexity of treatment and individual healing response. Patients receive personalised instructions covering oral hygiene, diet, medication and activities during recovery.
Contact the clinic if bleeding does not settle, pain or swelling worsens unexpectedly, or signs of infection develop. Difficulty breathing or swallowing requires urgent medical attention.
