Oral Surgery Consultation and Assessment
A detailed clinical and radiographic assessment for tooth extractions, wisdom teeth, impacted teeth and other oral surgical needs.
Oral surgery consultation in Dubai
An oral surgery consultation determines whether a surgical procedure is necessary and identifies the safest suitable treatment approach. At MID Dental Clinic in City Walk, Dubai, the assessment is based on your symptoms, dental condition, medical history and individual treatment needs.
What happens during the assessment?
The dentist examines the affected tooth and surrounding gums, checks for swelling or infection and reviews any previous treatment. Dental X-rays are commonly used to assess the roots, surrounding bone and nearby anatomical structures. Three-dimensional imaging may be recommended when additional detail is clinically necessary.
Reviewing your treatment options
Whenever possible, options for preserving the natural tooth are considered before extraction. If removal is recommended, the dentist explains whether routine tooth extraction or surgical extraction is more appropriate.
For wisdom teeth or other impacted teeth, their position and relationship to nearby structures are evaluated before treatment. The expected procedure, alternatives, recovery, recognised risks and aftercare requirements are discussed before consent.
Preparing safely for treatment
Tell your dentist about medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy, previous surgical complications and all medications or supplements you take. Some medicines or conditions may require additional precautions or coordination with another healthcare professional.
