Periodontal Regeneration

Regenerative treatment for selected periodontal defects affecting the bone and tissues supporting teeth.

Periodontal regeneration in Dubai

Advanced periodontal disease can damage the bone and tissues supporting the teeth. In selected cases, regenerative treatment may be considered to encourage the body to rebuild part of the lost support.

How does periodontal regeneration work?

After local anaesthesia, the affected area is accessed and bacterial deposits and inflamed tissue are removed. Depending on the shape and location of the defect, treatment may involve bone-grafting material, a protective membrane or another regenerative material.

Who may be suitable?

Regeneration is not appropriate for every type of periodontal bone loss. Suitability depends on the defect shape, remaining support, oral hygiene, tobacco exposure, general health and ability to attend follow-up appointments. A comprehensive assessment and dental imaging are required.

What results can be expected?

The goal is to improve periodontal support in suitable sites, but the amount of regeneration cannot be guaranteed. Healing takes place gradually over several months and varies between patients.

After active treatment, careful home cleaning and periodontal maintenance remain necessary. When regeneration is unsuitable, other approaches for controlling periodontitis will be discussed.

Common questions

Questions about this treatment.

Selected periodontal defects may respond to regenerative treatment, but not every pattern of bone loss is suitable and complete regeneration cannot be guaranteed.

Depending on the case, treatment may involve bone-grafting material, a membrane or other regenerative products selected by the clinician.

Initial healing occurs over several weeks, but bone and tissue maturation may continue for several months.
