Periodontics and Gum Treatment

Periodontal Consultation and Gum Assessment

A detailed assessment of bleeding, inflammation, recession, periodontal pockets and the tissues supporting your teeth.

Comprehensive gum assessment in Dubai

A periodontal consultation evaluates the health of your gums and the structures supporting your teeth. At MID Dental Clinic in City Walk, Dubai, the assessment is tailored to your symptoms, medical history and oral-health needs.

What happens during the consultation?

The dentist examines the colour, shape and condition of the gums and checks for bleeding, recession, plaque and calculus. A periodontal probe may be used to measure the spaces between the teeth and gums. Tooth mobility and the way your teeth meet may also be evaluated.

Dental X-rays may be recommended when the supporting bone needs to be assessed. Factors such as tobacco use, diabetes, medications and previous periodontal treatment may also be discussed because they can influence gum health and healing.

What happens after the assessment?

Your findings will be explained clearly. Depending on the diagnosis, recommendations may include improved home care, professional cleaning, deep cleaning and root planing, gingivitis treatment or a personalised plan for more advanced gum disease.

The consultation does not automatically mean that treatment is required. Its purpose is to establish an accurate diagnosis and identify the most appropriate next step.
