Full and Partial Dentures
Custom full and partial dentures in Dubai designed to replace missing teeth and support everyday speaking, chewing and appearance.
Custom Dentures for Missing Teeth
Dentures are removable dental appliances used to replace multiple missing teeth. Full dentures replace all teeth in an upper or lower arch, while partial dentures replace selected teeth and use the remaining teeth for support.
A denture is individually designed according to the shape of the mouth, gums, remaining teeth and bite. The objective is to improve function and appearance while creating a fit that can be maintained and reviewed over time.
Full Versus Partial Dentures
A full denture may be considered when no natural teeth remain in an arch or when the remaining teeth cannot be retained. A partial denture fills spaces between existing teeth and may use clasps or other components for stability.
The appropriate option depends on the number and position of missing teeth, gum health, supporting bone, remaining teeth and individual preferences. Other options may include dental bridges or implant-supported restorations.
How Are Dentures Made?
- Dental assessment: The mouth, gums, remaining teeth and bite are examined.
- Scans or impressions: Detailed records are taken to design the denture.
- Bite registration: Measurements help establish how the upper and lower teeth meet.
- Trial stage: The fit, tooth position and appearance may be reviewed before completion.
- Delivery and adjustment: The final denture is fitted and care instructions are provided.
Several appointments are usually required. Additional adjustments may be needed as the mouth adapts or if the shape of the gums changes.
Adapting to New Dentures
New dentures can initially feel unfamiliar. Speaking and eating may require practice, and mild pressure areas can occur. Start with manageable foods, chew carefully on both sides and follow the instructions provided by your dentist.
Do not attempt to reshape or repair a denture yourself. If it becomes painful, loose, cracked or unstable, arrange an assessment.
Cleaning Your Dentures
Clean dentures every day using the recommended brush and cleaning product. Remove food deposits and clean the gums, tongue and remaining teeth. Your dentist will advise whether the denture should be removed overnight and how it should be stored.
Continue attending dental check-ups, even with full dentures, so the fit and oral tissues can be examined.
