Endodontics and Root Canal Treatment
Root Canal Consultation and Diagnosis
A detailed root canal assessment in Dubai to identify the source of tooth pain, sensitivity, inflammation or infection.
Diagnosing Tooth Pain and Pulp Conditions
A root canal consultation evaluates symptoms that may originate from the dental pulp or tissues surrounding a tooth’s roots. Possible concerns include persistent pain, prolonged sensitivity, discomfort when biting, swelling, dental trauma or symptoms affecting a previously treated tooth.
These symptoms do not automatically mean root canal treatment is required. Tooth decay, cracks, gum problems, bite pressure and other conditions can produce similar symptoms.
What Does the Assessment Include?
The dentist reviews your symptoms, dental history, medical conditions and previous treatment. The tooth, surrounding gums and bite are examined. Diagnostic tests may assess responses to temperature, pressure or gentle tapping.
Dental X-rays are commonly used to evaluate decay, restorations, roots and the surrounding bone. Additional imaging may be recommended for complex anatomy, previous treatment or suspected fractures.
Your Treatment Options
Depending on the diagnosis, recommendations may include monitoring, a restoration, root canal treatment, retreatment, surgery or extraction when a tooth cannot reasonably be restored.
The findings, possible benefits, limitations, alternatives and expected prognosis should be discussed before treatment begins.
