Emergency Dental Care

Urgent dental assessment in Dubai for significant tooth pain, swelling, broken teeth, damaged restorations and dental injuries.

When do you need urgent dental care?

Urgent dental assessment may be required for significant tooth pain, swelling, dental injury, a broken tooth or a restoration that has become loose or damaged. Early evaluation can help identify the cause and determine appropriate treatment.

MID Clinic provides urgent dental assessments in City Walk, Dubai, subject to appointment availability. Contact the clinic as early as possible and describe your symptoms clearly.

Dental problems that may require urgent assessment

  • Severe or persistent toothache
  • Swelling of the gum, face or jaw
  • A knocked-out, displaced or fractured tooth
  • Uncontrolled bleeding from the mouth
  • A broken filling, crown, bridge or veneer causing pain or injury
  • Dental infection or an unpleasant taste with swelling
  • Trauma affecting the teeth, lips, gums or jaw
  • Difficulty opening the mouth or chewing

What happens during an emergency appointment?

  1. Your symptoms, injury and relevant medical history are reviewed.
  2. The affected area is examined.
  3. X-rays may be recommended when clinically necessary.
  4. Immediate care may focus on controlling pain, managing infection risk or stabilising the tooth.
  5. A definitive treatment or follow-up plan is explained.

The treatment provided depends on the diagnosis and may not always be completed during the first urgent visit.

What should you do after a dental injury?

Handle a knocked-out permanent tooth by the crown rather than the root. If it is visibly dirty, rinse it gently without scrubbing. Seek urgent professional advice immediately. Do not attempt to reinsert a baby tooth.

For a broken tooth, keep any available fragments and arrange an assessment. A cold compress outside the face may help with swelling, but do not place medication directly on the gum or tooth.

When is hospital emergency care required?

Seek emergency medical help for difficulty breathing or swallowing, rapidly increasing facial or neck swelling, uncontrolled heavy bleeding, loss of consciousness or significant facial trauma. These symptoms should not wait for a routine dental appointment.
