Bite analysis in Dubai
A bite analysis evaluates how the upper and lower teeth contact during closing and jaw movement. It may be recommended when teeth show significant wear, restorations fracture repeatedly or several teeth require coordinated reconstruction.
What does the assessment include?
The dentist examines tooth contacts, wear patterns, jaw movement, existing restorations and supporting tissues. Photographs, scans, impressions or mounted models may be used to study the bite. Symptoms and habits such as tooth grinding are also reviewed.
Planning occlusal rehabilitation
Treatment depends on the diagnosis and may include monitoring, a protective appliance, orthodontic treatment or carefully planned restorations. Patients with worn teeth may first require the existing tooth-wear assessment.
When several damaged teeth require restoration, bite planning may become part of full-mouth rehabilitation. Temporary or trial restorations can sometimes be used before final treatment.
Bite and jaw symptoms
An uneven bite is not the only possible cause of jaw pain, headaches or temporomandibular symptoms. Irreversible dental treatment should not be selected without an appropriate diagnosis. Results depend on the underlying problem, treatment selected and long-term maintenance.
